Welcome to the Korean Studies Programme. This is one of the youngest units in the Faculty of Arts having enrolled the first group students in September 2013. The Korean Studies office, which is currently housed by the Department of Linguistics and Languages in the Faculty of Arts, is in Education Building, 2nd Floor Room 203. The Korean Studies office hosts two programmes: BA in Korean Studies and Certificate Course in Korean Language, Literature and Culture. The Office has commenced working on MA in Korean Studies curriculum. The office has continued to involve students in its programmes through exchange visits, teaching of Korean courses and essay competition. The Launch of the Korean Studies Programme coincides with the award of prizes to the winning essays from the 2013 Essay Competition. The University of Nairobi, through the Korean Studies Office will host the first International conference on Korean Studies in Africa in December 2014. This is a young programme. It needs all the support in terms of ideas, resources both material and intellectual to see it mature into an institute.
